From flesh tunnel earlobes to body piercing, these are the beauty fads that people regret.
Plucking your eyebrows to an inch of their life is never a good idea. Not only
does it age you, but a hair follicle only has a certain number of cycles of
growth and if you pluck it too many times, you can kill it off - leaving you
with patchy, or even nonexistent eyebrows!

Plastic surgeons have reported a ‘big increase’ in operations to fix flesh
tunnel ears. Once the holes have been stretched more than 1.5cm in diameter, the
earlobe will never return to its original shape without surgery.

Having permanent makeup in the form of eyebrows, lipliner or eyeliner tattooed
onto your face can often lead to deep regret, and are difficult and costly to
remove properly.

Getting a body piercing like a belly button ring or a surface piercing can cause
chronic infection, prolonged bleeding, scarring, and even hepatitis B and C and
tetanus.

Not only are matching tattoos super cringeworthy and often tacky, they can
become a huge regret in the event of a breakup. Tattoos last forever (unless you
want to fork out the money for a removal) - relationships often don't.

Not only are the chemicals used to apply acrylic nails notoriously unhealthy,
but wearing them for too long can also lead to serious nail breaks, infection
and even loss of your natural nails.

Bad fake tan, while luckily not permanent, can cause a lot of regret and
embarrassment with hindsight. No one wants to look like a patchy, glowing oomph
loompa in their photos. However this is not nearly as bad as a real tan, which
can be very dangerous. Using a tanning bed, or spending too much time in the sun
without protection can damage and age your skin, as well as putting you at a
much higher risk of skin cancer.

This trend can turn out very awkwardly - if you get sick of it, it can take a
long time to grow out properly, depending on your hair type.

If cornrows are too tight, they will damage the hair's roots by causing too much
tension, and can even cause hair loss.

Facial piercings are much harder to hide than some other beauty blunders, and
can lead to bad infections that may scar your face permanently.
